The North of England has already proven to be fertile ground for growing great singing talent, with several of our star performers and winners coming from northern cities. As part of our search for this year’s competition champion, we embarked on a three-day whistle-stop tour of some well-known northern towns and cities to see what we could find.
A group of our Junior Star Singer Songwriter stars came together for a wonderful summer showcase in Mayfair’s Hatchetts venue in Central London on 24th July.
On a balmy evening in the middle of the recent heatwave, artists were interviewed by main presenter Amanda Neale and then sang their hearts out to a packed audience.
Performers included past and present Junior Star Singer Songwriter winners Kasey Wray Wooderson, Chloe Dunne and Billie and Louie Hughes. They were also joined by presenter for the new JSS Theatre Star show, Scott Thornhill; our JSS presenters for JSS Extra South and JSS Extra North, Georgia Myers and Emily Taylor Smith; co-presenter Rachael Summers, new contestant Ruby Jahnke and contestant from last year Sarah Johnston.
Our very own Teide Bryce is due to blow another crowd away tomorrow when she performs at the Hatchetts Bar in Mayfair!
If you aren’t lucky enough to be there, she will be telling us all about it in due course so watch this space for her post-gig review!
It was a white, winter-y morning on March 3rd as Junior Star Singer stars gathered for their annual photo shoot. Founder of Junior Star Singer Amanda Neale arranged for artists to meet in Caterham Valley, Surrey, where the snow had settled beautifully across the hills – perfect for snapshots!
Amanda Neale met with co-presenter Rachael Summers, presenters from Junior Star Singer Extra Teide Bryce and Georgia Lois, 2017 winner Chloe Dunne and artists Scott Thornhill and Sarah Johnson. After smiling for the camera, the stars enjoyed their time in the snow by sledging down the park hills and throwing a few snow balls, making it a fun day for all! Not so much Beast from the East, but Fun in the South!
JSS superstar Teide Bryce charmed the crowds at Liverpool’s prestigious Cavern Club last summer, showing off her (self-taught!) guitar skills and ‘acou-pop’ tracks. We managed to persuade her to put her guitar down long enough to hear all about it…
We don’t just love to make our own music at JSS – we love to celebrate our favourite songs and artists too!
Georgia Lois, JSS’s first ever Junior Judge, has been kind enough to share the songs that she can’t stop listening to… Continue reading “Georgia Lois’s top music picks”
