We’re back! And both of us are so excited to announce that on June 6th we will be releasing our 3rd single, ‘Like the river’! This is a song that we are proud to be releasing as it has been in the vault for three years now. We wrote this song when we were 13 and since then it has evolved and changed into an emotional ballad as we have revisited and adapted the song.

Lockdown life – why now is the perfect time to get creative

By Amanda Neale

When the lockdown was imposed in March, it felt as if the whole world had suddenly been locked away from normality and routine. It has been like a bad dream that you hope you will wake up from but is actually happening every day. Sometimes it has felt like we’re all actors in a movie where this pandemic has broken out but we’re waiting for the action hero to arrive and rescue the world from being destroyed. Family and friends have lost their lives so quickly to this horrible pandemic that has swept across the world literally like a demon.

In this article, I write about some of the people and bands who inspire me.

Bringing people together through music

By Billy & Louie Hughes

These are undoubtedly strange times for us all. While keeping people apart to keep us healthy is the best way to save lives, it’s still really tough being indoors and away from friends, family and the outside world in general.

That’s why we came up with an idea to somehow collaborate with singers and upcoming artists to spread a bit of positivity during the current time of crisis.

The Junior Star Singer Songwriter final – the day where everyone was a winner

Following on from our success in the Junior Star Singer competition in 2017, we came down to the studios in London, on the day of the final, to perform the demo of the song we co- wrote for the contestants. It must have been hard for the contestants because we only sang it once. Although they had the opportunity to record the demo on their phones, it still must have been a challenging task practising in the same space as all the others who were also busy trying out the song as well!

Seeing things from the contestants’ perspective

When you’re running a nationwide contest like Junior Star Singer Songwriter, it can be easy to get so caught up in making sure the shows go smoothly that you forget what it must be like for the contestants as they give their all live on air.

So who better to help us to take a step back and see things from the contestants’ perspective than two of our previous contestants, brothers Billy and Louie Hughes. Billy and Louie were winners of the 2017 Best Group category and have been helping out on this year’s tour, first as special guests and, most recently as part of our interviewing team on our recent show on Radio Dacorum.
