When it comes to making music, you’re never too young to start. For the past year, Christian Neale has been putting together a mix of dance and ambient-inspired tunes and publishing them on his own YouTube channel and web site. Now 13, Christian is currently working on an EP and album based on stories he has developed about space and peace. We talk to Christian to find out more about his music and why night-time is often the best time for his new ideas!

As the 2019 series of Junior Star Singer has kicked off for another year of touring the country searching for more young people with hidden talents, I caught up with the winner of the 2018 solo category, Phoebe Maddison, to find out how she felt following her win.
When you’re running a nationwide contest like Junior Star Singer Songwriter, it can be easy to get so caught up in making sure the shows go smoothly that you forget what it must be like for the contestants as they give their all live on air.
So who better to help us to take a step back and see things from the contestants’ perspective than two of our previous contestants, brothers Billy and Louie Hughes. Billy and Louie were winners of the 2017 Best Group category and have been helping out on this year’s tour, first as special guests and, most recently as part of our interviewing team on our recent show on Radio Dacorum.
The North of England has already proven to be fertile ground for growing great singing talent, with several of our star performers and winners coming from northern cities. As part of our search for this year’s competition champion, we embarked on a three-day whistle-stop tour of some well-known northern towns and cities to see what we could find.
The lovely Georgia Lois was kind enough to take some time out of singing (and exam preparation!) to speak with Junior Star Singer Online and answer some quickfire questions…no pressure!
