Our very own starlet Rachael Summers reflects on the career of EDM superstar, Avicii, who passed away last week.
The music world was rocked on 20th April as the sad news broke that top electronic dance music artist, Avicii, has died aged just 28. Swedish born Tim Bergling was nominated for two Grammy Awards and had nine top 10 singles, including two number ones. He was also the first EDM DJ to stage a worldwide arena tour.
Avicii started his career when he won a production competition held by Pete Tong in 2008 and is best known for his chart-topping hits including Hey Brother, Wake Me Up and most recently, Lonely Together with Rita Ora.
There has been no announced cause of death at this stage, though at the time of this report police have confirmed criminal suspicion and many are of the belief it was a result of his lifestyle, but the public and celebrities around the world are paying tribute to this young legend, whose songs made me dance and sing my heart like so many others. He and his music will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. Rest Easy, Avicii.
